Gabriela Reynoso

Mom, soldier, humanitarian and more. Gabriela B. Reynoso was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States in 1995. After graduating from Memorial High School in West New York, NJ, she chose to serve her adopted country and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2000. Following her basic training in Chicago, IL, Ms. Reynoso was deployed on Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the USS Carl Vinson and Operation Iraqi Freedom aboard the USS Nimitz.

She was honorably discharged from the Navy as a Personnel Specialist Third Class (PS3) (AW) and was recognized with numerous awards, including:

  • Good Conduct Medal (2 awards)
  • National Defense Service Medal
  • Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal

During her military service, Ms. Reynoso also volunteered at an orphanage in Thailand and supported the Special Olympics in Groton, CT.
Currently, Ms. Reynoso serves as the Deputy Tax Collector for the Town of West New York, NJ, while also taking on the roles of Military Advocate for the town, Secretary of Local Union CWA 1045, Commander of the Weehawken American Legion Post 18, Executive Officer for the Weehawken Boy Scouts Troop 223, and Treasurer of the New Jersey Veteran Support Alliance.

Ms. Reynoso is also actively involved with La Fundación de Igualdad a los Envejecientes (FIAE) in the Dominican Republic, a charitable organization that offers social assistance, healthcare, education, nutrition, and support to children and the elderly.

Additionally, she participates in the USA Humanitarian Aid International Foundation, a nonprofit committed to addressing social and logistical challenges while training future first responders. The Foundation provides meals to an orphanage serving 357 children and supports 700 families. It also coordinates free medical services, distributes medicines, and conducts first aid and emergency training programs.

Ms. Reynoso is pursuing a degree in Workforce Education and Training at Southern Illinois University. Above all her achievements, she is most proud to be the mother of her ten-year-old son, Antonio.
