Supporting the unique challenges faced by our veterans is not a simple task. NJVSA is committed to helping veterans create a social support network characterized by connection and hope. Just like every veteran has a unique story, so do our volunteers. Check out the ways our volunteers are improving the lives of veterans across New Jersey.

Hospital Care Packages

The veterans we work with often have complex medical needs which might require inpatient hospital stays. Our volunteer Kayla started a care package program in early 2024 after experiencing her own medical issues.

Our hospital care packages are delivered to hospitals in Morris and Sussex Counties. Along with a care package, our volunteers will spend time with veterans in acute care hospitals to ensure they feel heard and supported.

Free Veteran & Family Events

Building community and strenghthing families one community event at a time. Each year, the NJVSA partners with the American Dream Mall to offer a free day of amusement parks for veterans and their families. In 2023, over 800 veterans from across NJ joined us at the American Dream.

The New Jersey Veteran Support Alliance focuses on providing support for medical and mental health care, including documentation that may be utilized for VA claims when appropriate, assistance with transitional housing, and facilitating enriching community experiences.
